My Life
Hi and welcome! I'm Jessica Kim, the founder of BabbaCo.
Jessica was born and raised in New Jersey – and proud of it! “I was the youngest of 3 kids and we had the most supportive parents. My dad was a psychiatrist (enough said) and his #1 goal was to protect our self-confidence. I remember him saying, ‘if YOU believe in yourself, then everyone else will believe, too. Be yourself. Do what you love. Dream big because you can do it.” And that she did...
She started her first company at the ripe age of 19 literally out of her dorm room at Brown University. With her infectious smile showing off her shiny braces, she raised a million dollars of funding for her company called “Jessica’s Wonders” best described as the “Ben and Jerry’s of baked goods”. The slogan captured it all: “Mmm-hh…so good it’ll make you wonder”. This was her first job out of college and she successfully grew it to millions in revenue, national distribution, and impressive press features in People, Wall Street Journal, Boston Globe, and Inc. Magazine. She learned some key lessons early on: to follow your passion, seize the opportunities, and the power of sharing your story.
More than a decade later, Jessica is now a mom of three scrumptious kids: Kayla “sweets," Grant “the beast," and Brandon “bubba." She wanted to follow in her parents’ footsteps by making it a priority to raise confident and happy children. Despite a busy schedule, Jessica knew the most important thing she can give to her kids was her love and quality time. “Our life is filled with a million to do’s and bins filled with forgotten things. We spend so much time doing things FOR our families – yet sometimes we forget to spend time WITH them.”
So, Jessica started BabbaCo to create products and ideas that are super practical, fun, and realistic for busy parents to actually use. “It all starts with the parents. We, as parents, are their first teacher, their first love, their first cheerleaders, and we shape their early perception of the world.” It can be daunting sometimes, especially as we juggle everything around us. So, join us on our mission to be purposeful and intentional about raising kids who are self-confident and full of joy. Let the adventures begin!
